Meeting the Needs of Clients
This page will give a very special opportunity for members of the community (you!) to hear directly from the wonderful staff of Advantage about the current needs for their programs and clients. We will keep this form up to date, and if you'd like to talk directly with us about meeting one of these needs, contact us at tdalton@advantagebhs.org or 706.542.9700.
The Elberton Project
Friends of Advantage is currently undertaking a major fundraising project to renovate the facility it owns in Elberton. The major task is to renovate the basement so that three offices, which are currently separated, can be in the same building.
This effort will cost around $100,000 but will save Advantage $70,000 per year.
This accomplishment would be a major step forward for Advantage and its clients. This move would make our staff and services even more efficient and productive. It would make the facility even more welcoming for clients. And it would let our resources go more to people and less to overhead.
Generous people have already stepped forward to help us meet this goal. If you’d like to see this major step forward in Elberton, contact us at tdalton@advantagebhs.org or 706.542.9700.
Connecting Everyone: Transportation for All Developmental Disabilities Clients
Support for transportation expenses is an ongoing challenge for Advantage Behavioral Health Systems’ various programs. Transportation is an essential ingredient for serving people who are creating better lives through real personal accomplishment. While many of our clients benefit from the bus passes provided by Advantage, other clients rely on more specialized equipment to get around: Advantage’s ailing fleet of lift vans. Advantage is currently in need of new lift vehicles for our developmental disabilities service centers in Jackson, Barrow and Walton counties. These centers provide mentally and physically disabled people in these counties with the opportunity for job placements, education, social interaction and support for daily living.
We are pursuing a number of grants to meet these needs, but Friends also hopes to build an ongoing fund to support transportation at our various programs. If you would like to discuss contributing to such a fund, please contact Michael Hammer at mhammer@advantagebhs.org or 706.542.9700 x1111.
